The program exists, but it's stopped, or it was never published, or the vendor who looked after it no longer answers. I start from the code that's there and take it through to going online, securely.
I evolve the software you have
You work on it every day and it's fine as it is. Then you're missing a piece: a link to the management software, or access for your clients. I add that piece without breaking what already works.
I build it from scratch
The tool you need doesn't exist yet. Today you use an Excel sheet, or you do everything by hand. I develop a program designed for the way you and your company work.

For more than 5 years I've worked in software development. Whatever the program is, I always follow the same method, in three points.
I measure before deciding.
First I work out where the problem is. Then I tell you how I can help you.
No technical jargon.
I explain what I do in plain words. If something isn't clear, just ask: no question is too basic.
Every delivery can be tried out.
I deliver in pieces, and you can try each piece straight away.
The commitments I make to you
The code stays yours at the end.
Code, credentials and documentation pass to you on delivery. The documentation lets you understand the software and run it over time.
The quote and the contract say what's out of scope too.
What the quote says goes into the contract we sign before we start.
Sometimes the answer is no.
Sometimes a job isn't needed, or I'm not the right person for it. I tell you straight away.
